Singing Actors of all voice types.

REPERTOIRE
LATIN RHYTHMS
A two half jazz cabaret with jazz trio featuring music from the American Songbook and jazz standards.

The Texas premiere of:
ADRIFT IN MACAO
Book & Lyrics by Christopher Durang, Music by Peter Melnick
90min musical without intermission, 7 singers, no chorus.

Mixing together farce, camp, and tongue-in-cheek wit, Adrift in Macao spins the tale of five quirky characters stranded in a Casablanca-like locale in the Far East. Set in 1952 Macao, China, everyone that comes to Macao is waiting for something, and though none of them know exactly what that is, they hang around to find out. The characters include your film noir standards, like Lureena, the curvaceous and wised-up dame, who luckily bumps into Rick Shaw, the cynical surf and turf casino owner her first night in town. She ends up getting a job singing in his night club – perhaps for no reason other than the fact that she looks great in a slinky dress. And don’t forget about Mitch, the American who has just been framed for murder by the mysterious villain McGuffin. Complete with intrigue, silliness and a playfully melodic score, it is the newest work from a gifted theater composer and one of America's funniest playwrights.

Roles (*cast)
-Lureena*: belty soprano w/ hi C, cynical, wised up broad but a hopeless romantic
-Mitch: Bass-Baritone, film noir hero, gruff, keeps his secrets hidden
-Corinna: Bway mezzo, jealous, seductive, sexy, changes moods quickly
-Tempura*: Baritone, wily, smarter than everyone, mock subservient
-Rick: Bass-Baritone, little sleazy and dabbles in illegal stuff, actually Irish
-Trenchcoat Chorus: 1 male, 1 female (both singer/actors play multiple roles)

PREPARATION
Prepare 2-3 selections from:
- American Songbook (1910-1960) one up-tempo, one ballad in desired key.
- Broadway song, comic if possible
- Actors will read sides, provided at the audition
Bring picture and resume, stapled together.
Accompanist will be provided.

LATIN RHYTHMS
LSL'S Summer Cabaret is the perfect indoor picnic with spicy favorites from the Great American Songbook with a Latin flair. Some would call it a cocktail concert with no dress code. Located in Midtown, LSL converts MATCH’s Black Box 1 into a gorgeous new venue drawn from New York nightclub history—but the style it evokes is that of the deluxe anything-goes speakeasy. Backed by a veteran jazz trio, this New York-style show will save you the trip to the Big Apple.
