Lone Star Lyric dares to celebrate the "Grimm" side of fairy tales with five world premieres. This ambitious series of newly-commissioned works by American composers
consists of a prologue, three one-act operas and a Broadway-style musical, all based on unsweetened tales from the Brothers Grimm. Performed by a cast of Houston's best and brightest singers,
pairs of fairy tales will be presented in rotation over the four-day Festival period. The musical prologue introduces each pair. Get ready to ignite your imagination, step into our storybook and be be carried away to a strange,
wonderful world where unlikely heroes and ditsy damsels live happily ever after ... sometimes ... if they're lucky.
