Lone Star Lyric is making its triumphant return to Doc’s with a show dedicated entirely to LADIES’ PARTS—because every now and then, the women deserve to take center stage, claim the spotlight, and maybe even steal the whole show for themselves. And what better place to do it than Houston’s newest hotspot, Doc’s Jazz Club, where the vibe is smooth, the sound is rich, and cabaret magic is real.

Leading the charge are the dazzling trio—Kelli Estes, Julia Kay Laskowski, and Sarah Brindley—three powerhouse performers who bring charisma, wit, and vocal fireworks in equal measure. Backed by an all-star Houston quartet featuring Rob Hunt, David Craig, Ernesto Vega, and Graeme Francis, this group is ready to serve up a musical feast that spans decades and styles.

Expect a little nostalgia, a lot of swing, and more than a few toe-tapping moments as they glide from big band favorites like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Bei Mir Bist Du Schön to timeless classics like As Time Goes By. Broadway lovers will get their fix with tunes like Sing for Your Supper and You Could Drive a Person Crazy, while modern gems like the Good Lovelies’ Crabbuckit and Fascinating Aida’s delightfully cheeky Cheap Flights keep things fresh and unexpected. And just when you think you’ve heard it all, they’ll take you home with Down to the River to Pray for a soulful finish.

 

With a sprinkle of jazz, a dash of sass, and plenty of personality, this intimate, New York-style cabaret promises an evening that’s equal parts elegance and mischief—up close, unforgettable, and just a little bit fabulous.

We’re excited to have the multi-talented Rob Hunt leading from the 88’s.  Rob’s played with music legends like Bucky Pizzarelli, John Pizzarelli, Peggy Lee, Willie Nelson, toured with Ray Price and he’s been Lone Star Lyric’s music director for 10 years.
