The Houston Opera Collective is excited to announce our upcoming joint auditions, bringing together Houston-area opera companies and artists in one room as we continue building a more connected and collaborative opera community.
Local Singers will have the opportunity to audition for participating Houston Opera Collective companies and be considered for upcoming productions and performance opportunities.
Whether you're a familiar face on Houston stages or an artist we'd love to meet for the first time, we want to hear you!

Founded in 2006, Lone Star Lyric is an independent, non-profit opera and lyric theater presenting organization committed to showcasing Texas-based artists, premiering new chamber works by living American composers and exploring the untapped repertory of lyric composers of the past.

The Houston Opera Collective is redefining how opera thrives in a major American city.
Rather than competing for audiences and resources, Opera in the Heights, Operativo, I Colori Opera, Ebony Opera Guild, Hopera, and Lone Star Lyric have come together to build a connected ecosystem—one that supports artists, strengthens organizations, and invites audiences to experience the full breadth of opera in Houston.
Through shared marketing efforts, a citywide punch card ticket initiative, a centralized platform connecting all participating companies, and collaborative auditions, the Collective is creating new pathways for discovery, access, and artistic growth.
We believe opera is not sustained by a single voice, but by many. Together, we are building a more unified, visible, and sustainable future for opera in Houston.
