GARY MOORE, COMPOSER

Gary Moore's musical background includes a BA in Applied Music (Piano) - University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Master's Degree in Choral Conducting at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.​

During his college years, he was active in musical productions and operas: Show Boat, The Sound of Music, Brigadoon, The Fantasticks, Annie Get Your Gun, La Traviata, Faust, Aida (with Plácido Domingo as Radames) with the Fort Worth Opera company.

As a composer, he has written over 430 songs and 20 musicals, including: Norman Rockwell's America, Clownin' Around, (with Willard Scott of NBC's Today Show), How-Dee! (with Minnie Pearl of the Grand Ole Opry), Those Great American an Folk Songs (with Burl Ives), G. Harvey, the Heart of the Artist, (with special Guest G. Harvey), We the People (200th Anniversary of the U.S. Constitution Celebration with Paul Harvey as narrator) and A Thomas Kinkade Christmas (with special guest, Thomas Kinkade.) His production of The Singing Christmas Tree with 180 plus singers and full orchestra was broadcast nationally on NBC, starring Tennessee Ernie Ford.

He has conducted the Houston and Dallas symphonies in concert and recorded with both orchestras.  He served as Musical Director for Olympic Gold Medalist Mary Lou Retton's PBS series, Mary Lou's Flip Flop Shop, for which he composed over 40 original songs.  His choirs of 150+ have toured South America, England, Scotland, Wales, Hong Kong, Russia, Poland Hungary, Italy, Israel, Germany and France.  For eight years, his Gary Moore Singers performed for the nationally televised Miss Teenage America Pageant with such guest hosts as: Bob Hope, Mac Davis, Abigail Van Buren, ("Dear Abby"), Anson Williams and John Davidson.  He has conducted choirs and orchestras in his own music at events before Presidents Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump.

He served as Musical Director for two of the largest Baptist churches in America, First Baptist Church of Dallas, and Second Baptist Church of Houston.  He's a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinphonia, BMI and the Dramatists Guild.
